I have read all of the books with Jack Gunn and enjoyed them all. I was real interested in reading this book as it has Jacks earlier life history. Although I found it was not filled with fights, shootouts, or battles. It does have them, they just do not take up the whole story. It was nice, as it explained some history and information about the ROK. Things I never knew about a part of the world that has a very different history and life style than here in the US. I look foreword to reading about Jack's next adventure in Japan and any other countries where he may need to go. The author, Mr. Wards style of writing makes a good read for young and old alike without x rated stuff or over the top blood and guts. I have never meet anyone like Jack Gunn in real life but, he seems to be believable as a real person. Most importantly he always does the right thing.Product details

I was offered an advanced reader copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. This book was not only an action-packed page turner, but it was also filled with information about the Asian culture and the setting where the book takes place. The author truly takes you on an adventure. What I really liked is that this book is a stand alone novel, so there are no cliffhangers at the end, although it does leave me anxiously waiting for Jack Gunn's next adventure!

Good book. Well written and very easy to follow the story. Page turner. I would recommend this book with out any reservations.
Having some knowledge and connection to ROK. I had the honor of training with them while a US Marine. This book was not only interesting but enjoyable to read. Yes South Korea is a small country but it is a great one too. The people, culture and military are outstanding.
Tocabaga Jack is back...as in way back before he was known as Tocabaga Jack...Tom Ward continues to explore what made Jack...Jack. And at the same time explore a different world...the world of conflict in Korea...post Korean War...the war that has never ended and continues in back alleys and plots to assassinate political leaders. Tom is a great storyteller and can make history come alive. Enjoy the read and enrichment into Korean Culture.
A fast paced intriguing thriller novel. Jack Gunn the main character takes you the reader on a fascinating journey. Through his unique abilities and captivating efforts he insures the safety and on going relationship between South Korea and the United States of America. To use one of the authors quotes, " In truth there is non-truth. In fiction there is non-fiction". Read his great story and you will get it clarified?

Thomas Ward has embarked upon an interesting mixture of subcultures, politics and human nature. Having served as a MSG this book took me back to a time in my life when I was surrounded by cultures as different New York and Texas, by poverty unknown to many in the US.
Thomas Ward should become known as America's storyteller for his uncany ability to mix facts with myths so that you are unable to tell where the truth ends and the myth begins. So if you haven't read any of Thomas Ward's works you are missing the boat!
